Dates: September 8 - December 6th, 2026 (12-week program)
Cost:
Group A - 30 Sessions - $599.99 plus GST
Group B - 30 Sessions - $599.99 plus GST
Schedule:
- Group A: Monday + Wednesday, 4:00–5:00 PM
- Group B: Tuesday + Thursday, 4:00–5:00 PM
- Game Play: Friday, 4:00–5:00 PM, bi-weekly (Group A plays Week 1, Group B plays Week 2)
- Co-Ed
- Max 12 athletes per group
Program Purpose
FUNdamentals is designed to grow a love for basketball in every athlete. The focus is on movement literacy, enjoyment, and basic interaction with the game in a fun-first, high-engagement environment. This program builds physical literacy, coordination, and confidence while introducing young athletes to the sport for the first time.
Who This Program Is For
Perfect for players discovering basketball for the first time. This is a no-pressure, all-skill-levels-welcome program for Grade 1, 2, and 3 athletes (co-ed), with a max of 12 athletes per group.
Program Goals
- Develop movement literacy: running, stopping, jumping, landing, change of direction
- Introduce basic dribbling, passing, and shooting
- Build spatial awareness and understanding of space
- Learn to play alongside and interact with others
- Create a fun, welcoming first experience with the game
Coaching & Instruction
Athletes are coached through small-sided games with a fun-first philosophy and high levels of engagement. Coaching emphasizes encouragement and skill exploration over competition.
Program Format
Initial Evaluation & Team Formation: Early sessions focus on introducing core movement and ball-handling skills while organizing athletes into balanced groups.
Weekly Training Sessions: Two practice sessions per week (Group A or Group B), plus bi-weekly Friday game play.
Fall 2026: All cancellations and refund requests made prior to August 1, 2026 will be subject to an administration fee of 20% of the overall total, plus a 2% payment processing fee. There will be no refunds for any Basketball Youth Development Programs after August 1, 2026.
